Okay, I'm doing a marathon reading for just one night. I've finished Cinder yesterday, made a review and today, I read Scarlet and right now, I'm making review on it. A day a book. I think I have to make a #readeveryday so I can share this marathon read to everybody of you. Without any further do, let's review this...
Title : Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles #2) Author : Marissa Meyer ISBN : 9780312642969 Genre : Young Adult, Romance, Fiction, Fantasy Rating : 4/5 stars
Cinder, the cyborg mechanic, returns in the second thrilling installment of the bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She’s trying to break out of prison—even though if she succeeds, she’ll be the Commonwealth’s most wanted fugitive.
Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit’s grandmother is missing. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother’s whereabouts, she is loath to trust this stranger, but is inexplicably drawn to him, and he to her. As Scarlet and Wolf unravel one mystery, they encounter another when they meet Cinder. Now, all of them must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen Levana, who will do anything for the handsome Prince Kai to become her husband, her king, her prisoner.
If someone offering me a guide tour, I would like to choose Wolf as my guide tour.
Sure, why not? He’s fighter. He’s strong. He’s handsome, and according to Scarlet, he’s hot. Why wouldn’t a girl like me not choosing Wolf to be my guide tour?
Okay, maybe Wolf wasn’t a guide tour. He just taking - helping - Scarlet to meet her grandmother, be nice to her and promise to make her save.
But is it really like that?
I never thought Scarlet would meet Wolf in a not-easy condition. I kinda thought she would meet him in the woods, when she’s lost and Wolf was there to help her out and find her grandmother. I never thought Wolf would be a fighter.
As the book goes by, the story went in. Scarlet and Wolf took a journey together. And we all know what will happen if a girl and a boy in the same condition for some time, they might fall for each other. Guess I didn’t have to spilled it out here.
I admit it. The journey was awsome. I had some intense when reading the scene that make my heart bumping so fast. Including the jumping scene. I never imagined what would happen to Scarlet if Wolf didn’t make it. There’s a bad thought in every tension scene. Including the battle.
Also, I got a little bit mad and annoyed when Wolf made Scarlet angry. He was dissapointed her, lying to her, doing bad to her.
In other hand, Cinder got a new friend—just like I expected—it was Thorne. Cade—sorry—Captain Thorne. A flirtatious person who don’t stop hitting on Cinder. Didn’t he know she has a boyfriend—sorry again—a crush, I mean?
What’s wrong with all the men? First Wolf, second Thorne.
Well, I’m also glad when Wolf, Scarlet, Thorne, Cinder and Iko finally become together as one. Thorne also stopped hitting on Cinder when he knew Cinder had a feeling for Kai—is it?
Still, this is not the end of the book. It’s still hanging the readers and expected what happen next.
Which is, lead us to the third book, Cress.
