[Review] Victoria Aveyard - Glass Sword (Red Queen #2)

Again, it's Monday

I don't know why but I keep writing reviews in Monday, when I'm in my lowest mood. I'm started to thinking that maybe I need to get my mood low when I write reviews. The side effect is, I'm not going to write long, maybe simple and short because...

Well, I'm just not in a good mood. So, here we are...

Title :  Glass Sword (Red Queen #2) Author : Victora Aveyard ISBN : 0062310666 Genre : Adventure, Fantasy, Romance Rating : 5/5 stars

Mare Barrow’s blood is red—the color of common folk—but her Silver ability, the power to control lightning, has turned her into a weapon that the royal court tries to control.

The crown calls her an impossibility, a fake, but as she makes her escape from Maven, the prince—the friend—who betrayed her, Mare uncovers something startling: she is not the only one of her kind.

Pursued by Maven, now a vindictive king, Mare sets out to find and recruit other Red-and-Silver fighters to join in the struggle against her oppressors.

But Mare finds herself on a deadly path, at risk of becoming exactly the kind of monster she is trying to defeat.

Will she shatter under the weight of the lives that are the cost of rebellion? Or have treachery and betrayal hardened her forever?

The electrifying next installment in the Red Queen series escalates the struggle between the growing rebel army and the blood-segregated world they’ve always known—and pits Mare against the darkness that has grown in her soul.

The adventure getting more stressful and the battle became more serious. Entering the Glass Sword's world, I'm feeling like my throat was cut and I couldn't breathe the fresh air again, dramatic, but that's truth.

I remembered I say that Maven and Mare's chemistry was good in my last review, right? Well, I didn't wrong about that and I don't want to change my opinion about them too. Eventhough in the second book, Cal and Mare are getting closer (and that's kinda sweet for me, but still, I ship for Mare and Maven). I still believe that Maven still has his good heart in him. I know maybe I'm too hopeless, believing Maven can turn to a good person again (eventhough that's very not possible), but hope will always there when we believe.

The plots got complicated as the time went by. Strategies built up, team-work, hatred, anger, revenge, love, everything was mixed up and it ruined your emotions. Once at some times when I read Cal and Mare's scenes, there is this little of my heart that want them to be together but when Maven crossed Mare's mind, I stop the thought and hopping that Maven will turn to a good prince -king- again. Hopeless thought, I know.

Glass Sword couldn't make me get enough, with the hanging ending, I desperately want to read the next book -and I am going to do it- I just hope that the ending of all ending won't make me dissapointed. I really wish Maven and Mare can be together but seeing the plot like this, I'm not sure the antagonist will change to be a protagonist, but who knows right?
